In the future, all new photos will be posted here.
After various delays, I’m finally on my way to Colorado. The movers will be here tomorrow morning to start packing, and I plan to be on the road by Wednesday. There’s much to do, so blogging will remain light to non-existent for a little while longer.
I’m currently in the process of upgrading my Wordpress installation, so I apologize for any broken features. The new “theme” system doesn’t play nice with my existing templates, unfortunately.
UPDATE: Well, everything seems to be working. I suppose I can put the chicken heads back in the freezer now.
I suspect I may have broken myself from the routine of blogging. While I often find myself wanting to write, I no longer feel obligated to do so. When I launched Betsu ni, I did so with the intention of taking blogging “more seriously” than I have in the past. Unfortunately, in an effort to be “serious”, I think I’ve castrated myself. The sort of topics that make a “serious” blog aren’t the sort of topics I care to write about.
I should just relax and write.
Somewhere, deep in the heart of the American Midwest, a weblog is born. Welcome to Betsu ni.
Let me explain the title. Betsu ni (べつに) is a Japanese phrase which essentially means “nothing in particular” or “not really”. Most often, it’s used in response to a question: e.g., “What’s up?”, or “Is something wrong?”, or “Do you like Bon Jovi?”
There’s no special meaning in the title, really. I simply have an interest in many things Japanese (such as the language), and felt it was a clever title for a weblog. Whether my original weblog, Nowhere, provided inspiration for the title is for you to ponder.
So, what’s the purpose of this weblog, you might ask?
Betsu ni.
