Earthquake

We just had a major earthquake here. From initial reports, it looked to be centered near Sendai, 300 km to our north. News is still filtering in, but as violent and persistent as the motion was here in Chiba, I imagine it was a significant event.

Update: Earthquake report here. Looks like a 7.2, centered very close to Sendai.

one of probably two major things (the other is public unisex hot baths) you would need to get used to if ever you decide to live in Japan for good.

unisex?!? I hope you don’t mean co-ed… For example, some U.S. bathrooms that are unisex has an occupancy of 1 person. They just mean either sex can use it, but 1 at a time. Hey, that means the bathrooms I have at home are also unisex… Now, Frat bathrooms become unisex during parties…
