An impressive thunderstorm shelf cloud approaches Bellevue, Nebraska after dark.
Your pictures makes me so happy you have no idea !
I live in Paris and I miss so much all of this, the light, the view and the smell of the nature.
Thanks a million
Thanks, Alex.
It’s a shame this shelf cloud had to arrive so late, as it would have made for some incredible photographs in daylight. There was a complete lack of lightning near my location, so I had to settle for ambient light for illumination. It was barely enough, and given the quick forward speed of the storm, a 30 second exposure was the most I could manage. So, I pretty much had to wait until it was right on top of me.
The view was better from the top of the hill, but the light would have ruined my shot. That, and there was a farmhouse up there. I didn’t want to find myself staring down the barrel of a shotgun. Being a little ways down the hill does make the scene appear a bit more ominous, though. The way all the lines in the photograph lead to a single point is kind of a fluke. I didn’t intend for that to happen.
To me, the photo seems like a train that’s coming towards me. Yet, it remains very surreal to my mind’s eye. And is that a shout out to Green Lantern?
Que fotografĂa mas impresionante y preciosa. Es mi nuevo wallpaper.
