Wait a minute. I still don't know who shot J.R.
There's really nothing much to say about the show's conclusion, seeing as there's no real conclusion to speak of. There's perhaps some sort of karmic resolution for Harima, but that's about it.
Anyway, despite the show's lack of evenness in its latter half, School Rumble was a fun ride from start to finish. Obviously, comparisons to Azumanga Daioh will plague the show for all of eternity, but I think School Rumble shines in a completely different way. Whereas Azumanga Daioh suffers from a sort of terminal whimsy that grows old after awhile, School Rumble sticks to straight-shooting situational comedy. Sure, it's adventurous when it needs to be, but at its core, it's little more than your basic romantic comedy.
I'm kind of disappointed to see things come an end. Clearly, they could make more episodes - and perhaps someday they will. But, I'm smiling nonetheless. There's something perpetually satisfying about School Rumble, I guess.

When did Harima's hair grow back?
I suspect Harima and Tenma's "date" in this episode will be the show's ultimate payoff. I can live with that, I suppose.
I wonder if that tuna boat song is on the soundtrack?

I'm a very, very, very happy Eri fan at the moment.
Yet, as much as I prefer Eri over Tenma, I don't think a pairing between her and Harima is best for the show. Then again, I don't know if a pairing with Tenma is all that good an outcome, either. Honestly, I can't quite wrap my head around the concept of Harima "getting the girl" at all - not yet, at least.
Still, Eri and Harima make an awfully cute couple.

Clearly, this episode puts the "rumble" back in School Rumble.
And, yes, I realize I'm the billionth person to make that joke. Would the last one leaving please remember to turn off the lights?

The show has seemed a bit unfocused in recent episodes. It's still entertaining, but I wish the various story threads would coalesce - at least before new side plots and characters (Lala?) are introduced.
I don't care much for the suggested Yakumo-Harima pairing, either. If he's going to cheat on Tenma, it might as well be with Eri. Yakumo can stick to romancing cats and small woodland creatures for all I care.

Is the mangaka an amateur wrestling fan or something?
I'll say it one more time: Why Imadori? If he had some sort of redeeming quality, I'd understand. However, he's a dork. And not even a lovable one. Poor, misguided Karen.
Oh, and one more question: does bra sizing work differently in Japan? By western standards, Mikoto clearly isn't a D-cup. This has been keeping me up at night, you know.

I would have enjoyed watching Eri and Mikoto claw each other's eyes out before the reset button was pressed, but I guess tearful reconciliation ain't that bad an outcome, either.
Still, a catfight would have been pretty hot.

Ichijou! But why Imadori? You don't deserve her!
I'm amazed by how perfectly balanced this episode was: just enough comedy to keep me laughing, and just enough drama to keep the story moving along. School Rumble is really something special.

Why is it none of the guys have the hots for Eri? I mean, she's clearly the best of the bunch. Absolutely. No doubt about it.
Well, at least until Ichijou shows up again...

The funny returns! Lots of great scenes this time around for an Eri fanboy such as myself. Ah, Harima, you lucky son of a gun.
Is it just me, or have they practically written Yakumo out of the show? Not that I care all that much, but her absence is rather conspicuous, especially with Hanai getting so much screen time.

This is turning into some sort of demented soap opera. On top of that, it's so funny, it's criminal.
With Harima returning to school, I'm assuming it'll be back to the regular ol' wacky hijinks. The drama of the past couple of episodes made for some interesting story and character development, but the show feels as if it's missing something when it gets to being too serious.
Although, I'll forgive a little bit of seriousness as long as Harmia sings another song. Some Enka, perhaps?

The first few minutes of this episode brought back some very painful memories.
Anyway, while I appreciate the story development, the show's just not the same without the comedy. And what woman lets a strange guy take up residence in her apartment, no questions asked?

It's about time Eri got her own segment!
As noted last time, the show seems to have reached the stage where actual story development has taken precedence over jokes and pratfalls. That's not to say the show has ceased making with the funny. Rather, the characters are finally starting to grow and develop while cracking jokes and acting like fools.

I was surprised to see the hockey match stretched across an entire episode.
The supporting cast got more screen time than usual, and hints of new story threads have been popping up the past few episodes. That's a good thing, I guess, since Harima chasing after Tenma can get old after awhile.
I hope we see more of Ichijou. She's cute.

Harima likes it rough. And, well...beefy.
This is what I get for watching Futari H last night. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must cleanse my soul. Some Cardcaptor Sakura should do the trick...
Ah, who the hell am I kidding?

The Yakumo segment, while very downtempo, was surprisingly cute. And clever. The rest, of course, was funny as usual.
Will the show ever run out of jokes? I hope not.

A little slower than the previous two episodes, but who cares? It's still a riot.
Without a doubt, this is my favorite show of the new season. It's just that good.

Hilarious, once again. Like Momotato, Tenma and Harima make the show for me. However, I think there's a lot of potential in the supporting cast. Especially the blonde girl.
I didn't mention it before, but the OP and ED are both ridiculously catchy. Musically, neither is spectacular, but both are quite fun and match the zaniness of the show perfectly.

Surely I'm not the only one who thinks this show feels a little like Kare Kano at times, even though it's clearly not as sophisticated. The style of humor is similar, though. The thought came to mind several times, so there must be something to it.
While the premise isn't particularly original, I have to admit I laughed a lot during this first episode. And while the characters are pretty one-dimensional for now, they're darn amusing in their stereotypical roles. Tenma's antics alone are worth the price of admission.
I'll definitely continue watching. I'm in it for the laughs.
