I was expecting an open-ended epilogue rather than a full-fledged resolution, but full-fledged resolution is what we got, with a satisfying happy ending. Very good stuff.
I had pretty low expectations for Popotan before it began airing, but after the first couple of episodes, I started to realize there was something special about the show. And indeed, it turned out great, with interesting characters, a fascinating and well-written story, and some of the best music of the year. Not bad for H-game-turned-anime. Of this newly popular genre, let's hope more shows turn out to be as wonderful.

Bittersweet ending? I guess the final episode will tell.
Oh, and mysterious girl's voice turned out to be much gentler than I was expecting.

It seems Mare's a badass. And Keith's an evil bastard.

Wow. This was incredibly good.
The girls return to the world of the second episode, except 40 years later. Mai ends up befriending Konami's troubled daughter, but that's just the beginning. Things get pretty heavy in the end.
If you're a Mai fan like myself, you're probably going to both love this episode for all the the screentime she gets and hate it for what she ends up going through. It's rough - and I'll admit to being floored that the story is taking such a serious turn. I really like what they're doing, though.

Christmas episode? Sort of. It was filler, but enjoyable nonetheless. And despite the show's origins, Popotan continues to be very good-natured.
I wonder if we'll get to see Nono again?

Daichi - the kid from the very first episode - returns, except now he's older, married, and a father.
But another mysterious fellow also appears...a new twist in what continues to be an intriguing story!

Given the cliffhanger the previous episode ended on, I'm kind of surprised I didn't get around to watching this one for a week. Backlogs suck.
Anyway, pretty good episode. The story has turned out to be far more complicated than I ever expected, and Mai is really a great character.
Oh, and everyone does the butt-wiggle dance in the OP sequence this time!

Very good episode. Onsen. Matrix ping-pong. More onsen. Beauty pageant. More onsen. Plenty of Mai. Yet more onsen.
Seriously, though, that Matrix bit had me laughing so hard it hurt.
Story is finally starting to move along, too. I'm intrigued.

Animation was a little off, but an interesting episode nonetheless. For such a fanservice friendly show, Popotan has a surprising amount of substance.
And, to be honest, the background music is some of the best I've heard in awhile. I'm looking forward to the OST release.

You know, this show makes me feel like a perv. Really cute episode, though. I mean, when everyone bowed to the ferret...classic.

This episode provides an indication of how the remainder of the show will be structured, and I have to admit that I find it interesting. The premise seems to have far more depth than I expected.
On the animation side, it remains bright with saturated colors. There's actually some pretty nice framing, too. The music, which almost has a sort of Celtic feel to it at times, is enjoyable. Oh, and the OP and ED animation (and songs, for that matter) rock.
My biggest worry is that there will be more and more shameless fanservice as the show progresses. Such was there in this episode, but it wasn't too distracting, save a couple of things involving Mii.
Anyway, it has potential, so I'll continue watching for now.

I wasn't expecting much from Popotan, and since I was already watching Da Capo (I can only handle one H-game-turned-anime series at a time, I think), I had no serious intentions of giving it much of a chance. The first episode impressed me, though. The artwork is nice, and the premise seems genuinely interesting. I'll have to at least give it a few more episodes to see if it's worthwhile.
