Koichi Mashimo is a very talented director. BeeTrain banzai!
It's a good thing I had low expectations for this show. I just wish the solid first episode hadn't gotten my hopes up. Tsubasa doesn't feel like a CLAMP show anymore. It's clearly a BeeTrain show. And not a very good one.
Hahahahahaha! I can't believe I didn't watch that sooner, that's classic!
I still have hopes for Tsubasa (but then again, I kind of like Bee Train don'tshootmeplease). As it's a shounen fight show, I can just about tolerate the flashbacks and I'm not expecting the pacing to be great, but Mashimo really needs to just keep things moving more - too many panning shots, too many long takes. I just hope things pick up a bit - Bee Train can't rely on their usual convoluted weird plots and pretentious dialogue for Tsubasa, and I just pray that they realise that scene pacing needs to be less ponderous and dull overall.
"Tsubasa doesn't feel like a CLAMP show anymore. It's clearly a BeeTrain show. And not a very good one."
-- Right there I think you've summed up exactly why people are so disappointed in this show so far. After all, it's Bee Train without any yuri-undertones. Just wait till the flashbacks and still frames start showing up!
I really loved your last caption, though =D.

I wonder what Pokemon Fye will get. "Green" and "wind" come to mind.
Right when I had decided to watch episode 1 .. . I have no idea what this show is about, but I will give it a try anyways.
I'm not a BeeTrain fan but I really liked the art in Noir and the show itself... but on the other hand, I'm not a Clamp fan either...
It's not a shounen fight show, thats what beetrain thinks, which is why the anime has failed horribly after only 3 episodes (imo). If anything, Tsubasa ~rc~ is more of a shoujo-manga. But whatever it is, it's not a shounen fight show.
Have you guys read the manga?
There's plenty of fighting going on in the first four volumes. I'm getting the fifth volume in a few days, but I'm certain that it'll just like the rest. It's definitely a shoujou/fighting genre, even if that is a rather confusing mix.
I suppose a shoujou/action genre would make more sense, but whatever. BeeTrain definitely needs to beef up the excitement a bit.
Obviously, CLAMP has shounen fighting experience (Angelic Layer). Furthermore, X, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Magic Knights Rayearth - despite all being shoujo manga - have a distinct fighting element.
The above boast quality anime adaptations, thankfully. And, in the case of Angelic Layer, the TV series even outshines the manga. The thing is, each of these shows retain the CLAMP "feel" - that is, those trademarks that make CLAMP manga so engrossing, weak story or not.
The problem is, the Tsubasa manga is particularly weak in the story department to begin with. So, animated and presented in the typical BeeTrain style (read: "dull and plodding"), it's almost a chore to watch.
O.K
But could be better it is amazing of how the people drew the characters and also the story line is also goll. I give this a 4 1/2. I can't wait for the new ep.
Gosh, I didn't even know that Tsubasa Reservoir came out. Why didn't Clamp make the anime out from the manga?
I'm not sure I understand your question, Haruko.
i'm with jeff on this one... what the heck is haruko asking???
I love this Part so much beside that guy is kind of cute(-=!!!!!!!!!!!
