The character designs were all over the map during this episode. It's a little early for that, don't you think?
Unfortunately, the direction felt a little ham-fisted as well. Koichi Mashimo strikes again? That remains to be seen, I guess. I'm still enjoying the music, however.
I'm pretty much accustomed to the voices now. Even talking Makona didn't faze me. It's a shame, however, that Sakura's little more than a giant body pillow for the time being, as I really enjoyed Yui Makino's performance in the first episode.
Needed more Yuko, less everyone else.
*would really rather be watching a xxxHolic series*

Wah. I didn't sign up for Sakura to spend the whole time as a prop. I hope they fix that soon.
Found it to be a really boring (shounen ick) episode. Time to rewatch the first half of episode 1 to make me feel better.
I'd rather be watching an xxxHolic series too... I was really hoping Watanuki would get more lines than two words. Alas, it wasn't meant to be.
I'm a little more worried that we may get cheated out of the guest CLAMP characters. I don't expect to see Miyuki-chan in every world...but at least story important characters would be nice.

I'm glad there are a lot of people that would have rather seen a xxxHolic series; I feel the same. The Tsubasa anime has a long ways to go. Considering the manga wasn't that great for me, this show was situated on shaky ground to begin with. This episode made me want my 24 minutes back, which is something I very rarely feel, even after watching some of the worst shows ever.
Maybe I missed something, and ATM I really can't be bothered to check out again, but exactly why did Syaoran decide to actively seek trouble near the end of the episode and challenge the pokemon gangs? Not only did that seem illogical, but somewhat out of character as well (I don't recall how this went over in the manga).
I agree that this episode felt ham-fisted, the latter half especially. I saw about a volume's worth of both the new CLAMP mangas, and I liked xxxHolic more; so I'll add that I would like to be watching an xxxHolic anime - though I'll say 'too' instead of 'rather'.
Rather be watching xXxHolic as well, lol why'd they have to cut the Arashi&Sorata segments out anyway :(
all you XXXholic fans will have your day since an XXXholic movie is in the works. as for the Tsubasa show...its mediocre like the manga.
