I've finally come to realize something: I can't stand Inoue Kikuko. Her "doting mother" voice drives me up the wall.
Anyway, with the recent licensing of Ah! My Goddess for domestic release, I figure this is a good point at which to cease watching. The story hasn't progressed much, Urd and Skuld have yet to appear, and, for all I know, the show will run for a kajillion episodes. It's been relatively enjoyable thus far, but I'm not enough of a fan to continue watching the show untranslated.
Interestingly enough, I don't find myself liking Bell's voice too much either. Sounds as if she's trying too hard.
By the end of episode 6 I noticed they've set a standard pacing for this show: a new main cast member every other episode. Eps 1 was about Keiichi, 2 and 3 about Bell, 4 and 5 was Sayoko, 6 and 7 was Megumi. Only, judging by next episode preview we see both Urd and Skuld on 8.
Also, retrofixing the story continues. In manga, by the events of episode 7 Urd had already been introduced. Bell's character has been switched over to what it developed into later on. Not that I mind, the anime works just as well like this.

Well, the way its designed, its suppose to go another kajillion episodes....considering the manga is still running. When they say together "forever" they meant "forever."
The voice of Innoue Kikuko is pretty much hit or miss for most people in the day and age, considering she's been around fro a good 15 - 20 years. Many do say that she sounds like she's trying too hard to be cute, and she's like that in almost every series she does with few exceptions. I still like her voice for that distinctive characteristic that many voice actresses don't have nowadays.
That's funny, I realized the same thing...it's not just the voice though, Belldandy's personality just gets grating for me in large doses. Keiichi and Belldandy getting 90% of the screen time so far reminded me how little I like either of them. This series might get better, but I think I'll pass on the DVDs and hope they make another series like Mini-Goddess that cuts out Keiichi and Belldandy--for me, anyway, the supporting cast is FAR better than those two.
Your all crazy.
I like the original and i really like this one. Im sad to see it stop so soon. why cant they wait till its over, or just do part of it. Its not like the subs are doing any favor to the show by stoping it, WE CANT BUY IT YET.
