Genshiken 11

For some reason, I expected Saki to become a more amenable character as the show progressed. Instead, it seems the opposite has occurred. Strange.

Anyway, with one episode left, Genshiken stumbles toward the finish line. The show has been pretty hit-and-miss from the very beginning, but the misses have really outnumbered the hits in recent episodes. I can't say I'm too disappointed to see it finally come to an end.

Limp? What? I've met a lot of people who don't like the series, but I still can't see it as anything other than absolutely amazing, and I believe that I have rather high standards.

Don't get me wrong: I've enjoyed Genshiken for the most part, and there were a few episodes that had me in absolute stitches. The problem is, there's really no story or character development to speak of. It's little more than an extended inside joke, and it seems even the writers got bored with it eventually (the preview for the final episode is telling, I think). Despite all the talk of how incredible this particular episode was, I was actually underwhelmed. Surely Saki's cosplay isn't intended to be the ultimate payoff for the entire series?

Toss in the fact that over half the episodes suffer from some VERY poor animation, and I have a hard time classifying the series as "amazing" in any way.

I see your point, i think it was ep 9 which i could barely stand. There wasnt much of anything what so ever execpt for two characters and his wild imagination. There are still some funny moments which have made the show decent.
I'm still hoping they have a nice end episode, I wonder if the club will get closed~!!

There's honestly been no anime series that's made me laugh a true belly laugh more.

Genshiken, I salute you.
