So the real villain is the American pharmaceutical industry? Why do so many anime conspiracies ultimately hinge on nefarious American involvement? For once, I'd like to see an anime series where the bad guys turn out to be Kiwi Dairy Goat Breeders or something. Archipelago Taisen, if you will.

Grouchy? Perhaps. I haven't been all that impressed with Mai-HiME's underlying story, especially given recent revelations. It's turning into one big anime cliché.

That doesn't mean I'm not enjoying the show, however. The characters are a fun bunch, after all.
