These flashback episodes may contain the most depressing moments of the show, but they're still my favorite. They just have a certain emotional impact that's missing from many of the "present day" episodes. It's the stuff that got me hooked on the show in the first place.

And, of course, with each flashback episode, we learn a little more about all those who shaped Asumi's life along the way: Lion-san, her teacher, her father, her friends...

Their stories are just as important as Asumi's story, after all.

This is definitely one of the more memorable episodes to date. I have a very hard time picking favorites for this series, though. The quality of the series as a whole is too high for me to be able to really single any one episode out.

Just as a note, I noticed you listed airdates in the archive pages, and thought it was worth noting that Twin Spica began its airing on November 1, 2003, and concluded on March 27, 2004.

Ah...thanks for the reminder on the air dates. Usually, I'm watching a show as it airs, so I typically don't add the air dates until all is said and done. Of course, this is a rare case where I'm still watching well after the show has finished airing. Hence, no dates.
