Style, meet substance.
OK, perhaps it's a little too early to say whether the story will have any substance or not, but the potential is definitely there. And as far as style is concerned, it be drippin'.
High points include the stellar animation, wicked action sequences, cool character designs, solid voice work (I'm a huge Kawasumi Ayako fan, so it's nice to see her get such a cool role), good music, and a unique OP/ED. Yes, I actually like the OP, although it took a few listens to grow on me. I fell in love with the ED the very first time, however.
Even though the series is already licensed, I think I'll continue watching for now.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. Loved the action and the ED was great. A tiny bit like Tengou Tenge ..don't know I guess we have to wait and see, might watch a few more episodes to see if I would buy it.
Definitly different, for some reason was reminded of Cowboy bebop. Maybe it was the unigue style, original intro, or perhaps the afro guy with the indifferent attidutde. eh, probably the best new series so far.
Well, regarding the Cowboy Bebop similarities, it IS the same director.
Guess I'm kinda late to reply.. ;)
Anyway, I'm kinda surprised that Ayako Kawasumi is the voice behind Fuu. I thought it was Yui Horie at first, during Fuu's first few lines.. 0_o
